In Nahua tradition, dogs are more than companions — they are guides. It was believed that humans and dogs were formed from the same bone of life, and that a dog would guard its person in this world and accompany their soul into the next.
Cuauhtémoc Wetzka drew from that bond to create Spirit Companions — a pattern rooted in the idea that we are never truly alone, in life or beyond it.

Cuauhtémoc Wetzka is an illustrator originally from Zongolica, recognized for his work that gives voice to childhood, the indigenous community and the richness of native languages. He has illustrated story books, posters, illustrations and cartoons for brands including Google, Apple, Cirque du Soleil's One Drop Foundation, and various publishers. His work has been exhibited in Argentina, Colombia, Guatemala, Spain, France, Estonia, Slovakia, Poland, Taiwan, Canada, Turkey and the United States.
